The Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Strategic Business Analyst to join our Corporate Development and Strategy team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining comprehensive financial models, testing commercial assumptions, and conducting sensitivity and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Modeling
  • Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive financial models to support corporate planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate the impact of different business strategies and market conditions.
  • Assumption Testing and Validation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate commercial assumptions and inputs used in the financial models.
  • Perform rigorous testing of key assumptions, including revenue growth, cost structure, capital expenditures, and working capital requirements.
  • Reporting and Analysis
  • Prepare detailed financial analysis and reports to support management decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Present financial model outputs and key findings to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Business Case Development
  • Work with PEXA senior management and internal and external stakeholders on PEXA's business planning process and business case development.
  • Consultatively work with all areas of the business to proactively solve strategic business problems.
  • Research and Analysis
  • Conduct industry research using publicly available data sources.
  • Generate and deliver reports from data analysis.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Participate in M&A activities, including financial analysis, due diligence, and valuation.
  • Identify and assess new business growth opportunities.

Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary degree in commerce, finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in corporate finance, investment banking, management consulting, and/or strategy.
  • Financial modeling capability essential.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools, such as Microsoft PowerBI and Tableau desirable.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook).
