Advancing AI-Powered Product Experiences

We are seeking a Senior Research Specialist to lead the development of our AI-powered features. This is a unique opportunity to build on our foundational model roadmap and translate academic breakthroughs into practical product experiences.
- Leverage expertise in GANs, Diffusion Models, VAEs, and Autoregressive Models to drive technical direction across foundational model development, experimentation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure research has a tangible impact on our products.
- Represent Canva at industry conferences through publications, talks, or open-source contributions.

- Proven leadership experience in research teams, with a strong track record of coaching and mentorship.
- Expert knowledge of machine learning, AI, and foundational model development, with hands-on experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A passion for staying current with research trends and continuous learning.
