We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Data Engineer to join our team at Lion, a leading beverage company. Based in Australia, this role offers an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and drive data-driven decision making.

As a Senior AWS Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in expanding and optimizing our Data & Analytics platform. Your expertise will empower our Insights teams to extract actionable insights efficiently, fostering a culture of data-driven innovation aligned with our rigorous data governance practices.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Designing, building, testing, and deploying optimized, highly available, and reliable data pipelines and architectures using relevant tools.
  • Driving business value creation by integrating new data platform toolsets into an innovation pipeline.
  • Assembling large, complex structured and unstructured data sets that meet business requirements, ensuring security and governance.
  • Updating existing data models and metadata repositories for new use cases.
  • Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements, including automation, data delivery optimization, and infrastructure scalability redesign.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Extensive experience with AWS architecture, technologies, and services, establishing recommendations for new AWS services or solutions.
  • A strong understanding of Data & Analytics concepts and technologies, including data warehousing, data lakes, ETL, visualization, and reporting, with a focus on creating business value.
  • Proficiency in data engineering tools and languages such as SQL, Python, Athena, Redshift, and Glue.
  • Deep knowledge of Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Marts, and Metadata Management best practices.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Modern Data Platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and Data Engineering, with strong Agile delivery skills and a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, or a related field.
