About the Role

Aurecon Australasia Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Power Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our power systems team, you will play a pivotal role in the ongoing energy transformation towards a more sustainable and resilient energy landscape.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and lead junior and mid-level staff to deliver complex technical tasks.
  • Champion high-quality delivery, and lead development of new tools and improvements to existing ones.
  • Lead and contribute to winning work within the team's skillset, and for the wider Aurecon group.
  • Support the wider Aurecon team's projects with advice on power systems, electrical, and NER related topics.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Hold RPEQ Certification.
  • Comprehensive and demonstrated knowledge of at least 2 out of 3 of PSS/E, PSCAD, and PowerFactory.
  • Understanding of the NER S5.2.5 and S5.3 technical requirements.
  • Understanding of the connection process from Connection Enquiry through to commissioning.
  • Demonstrated ability to both read and write Python automation code.
  • Strong understanding of Power System Studies and Power Systems.
  • Demonstrated communication skills both written and verbal.
