Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated individuals for the roles of Cook or Food Service Assistant and Housekeeper at Estia Health. These positions are available on a Part-Time or Casual basis and offer opportunities for ongoing training and development.

Cook Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Chef to assist in managing kitchen operations.
  • Customize meals to cater to the unique needs and preferences of residents.
  • Ensure the delivery of healthy, nutritious, and appetizing meals.
  • Support the kitchen team in providing an exceptional dining experience.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
  • Relevant experience in a commercial kitchen, with a preference for aged care settings.
  • A comprehensive understanding of various cuisines and dietary requirements.

Food Service Assistant Duties:

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare and serve food and beverages.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
  • Collaborate with the team to create engaging menus that meet individual preferences.
  • Adhere to food safety protocols and maintain accurate records.
  • Stay active and engaged during your shifts.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A genuine passion for enhancing the dining experience for others.
  • Experience in kitchen operations, preferably in aged care.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Completion of a Basic Food Handling Course.

Housekeeping Responsibilities:

In this vital role, you will:

  • Ensure a clean, hygienic, and safe environment for residents.
  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, positively impacting the home’s presentation.
  • Work alongside a dedicated team of aged care professionals.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in health and hygiene standards.
  • A positive, warm demeanor and a proactive approach to their work.
  • Ability to implement and manage hygiene maintenance systems effectively.
