Risk and Assurance Specialist

Job Summary

This role plays a critical part in enhancing risk and assurance frameworks across the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in overseeing and implementing risk management, policy, and assurance frameworks.

About the Role
  • Implement the Risk and Opportunity Management Framework to ensure effective risk mitigation at operational and project levels.
  • Support functional and project teams by promoting and embedding risk management practices and managing risks through the ERM tool.
  • Deliver insights and advise management on emerging risks, treatment options, and strategies, and develop risk reporting protocols, key risk indicators, and evaluation criteria.
  • Shape approaches and tools that focus on risk control effectiveness, collaborating with audit providers and business teams to ensure compliance with audit recommendations.
  • Develop and deliver training and communication plans to promote risk awareness and use of the ERM tool, fostering a positive risk culture.
  • Create effective relationships with internal stakeholders and promote a culture of risk awareness, alignment, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Experience in risk management, policy, and assurance frameworks.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • A sound understanding of legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience in critical analysis, data interpretation, and conceptual skills.
  • Ability to re-prioritize, refocus, and redirect efforts in response to evolving needs.
