- Responding to legal proceedings served on ASIC regarding deregistered companies
A tertiary qualification in law from a recognised institution is highly desirable. You should have knowledge and exposure to various areas of law, especially property law and conveyancing. Additionally, you must be able to interpret and apply legislation administered by ASIC, including the Corporations Act 2001, and quickly acquire knowledge of property law legislation across all Australian jurisdictions.
About Our TeamThe Property Law Group in the Legal Services Group exercises ASIC's functions and powers under Chapter 5A of the Corporations Act 2001 in relation to the property of deregistered companies. The team manages a high volume of matters, including the assessment of applications to deal with the property, responding to legal proceedings, enquiries and notices relating to the property, and the provision of advice to stakeholders as to the appropriate remedies available.
As a valued member of the Property Law Group team, you will take on additional tasks as needed, work professionally and cooperatively while embodying ASIC's values of Accountability, Professionalism, and Teamwork, and ensure the health and safety of yourself and others in the workplace.
