About the Role

Seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Architect to join our team and lead the design of robust networks, wireless networks, voice and wireless voice technology, and cabling infrastructure systems for healthcare projects in construction.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a large and complex QLD State Government agency in the health sector, driving innovation and delivering exceptional outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement fit-for-purpose solutions that align with enterprise architecture strategies, directives, and standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors to identify solution capabilities and ensure strategic alignment.
  • Capture and document system requirements to drive the architecting of a solution that meets stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including digital blueprints and solution implementation designs.
  • Consult, negotiate, and communicate with stakeholders and ICT professionals to promote shared understanding and acceptance of proposed solutions.
  • Provide expert advice on solution alternatives, architectural risks, issues, and resulting implications.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic project plans and schedules, identifying project risks, issues, and mitigation strategies.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience working on healthcare infrastructure within construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of at least two areas: networks (LAN and WAN), wireless networks, voice and wireless voice technology, enterprise applications, and cabling infrastructure systems.
  • Professional and tertiary level qualifications in ICT, system engineering, and solution architecture or similar are highly desirable.
  • Reasonable travel may be required as part of this role.
Selection Criteria:
  • Proven expertise in developing solution architectures for complex systems, ensuring consistency with specified requirements and stakeholder agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply solution architecture principles, practices, and processes within enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Ability to analyze, problem solve, and make decisions to resolve technology challenges in response to business and ICT requirements.
  • Expertise in using project management methodologies to assist service providers in meeting deadlines and agreed outcomes.
  • Able to establish and influence positive partnerships and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
