Role Overview

The Head of EdTech plays a pivotal role in upskilling staff and fostering curiosity to integrate educational technologies into teaching, thereby enhancing learning outcomes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Create an endorsed EdTech roadmap that strategically implements purposeful technology (including AI) within the school.
  • Evaluate and select tools that support teaching and student learning, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Promote safe and ethical practices among students, staff, and the broader community.
  • Develop and teach Technology subjects to students across different age groups, including VCE.
  • Implement digital pedagogies that boost student engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Pilot innovative initiatives within a school environment.

Requirements
  • Hold relevant teaching qualifications and registration (VIT registration essential).
  • Demonstrate experience in teaching Technology subjects to diverse age groups.
  • Show passion for the evolving world of technology (including AI) and a desire to share this enthusiasm with students and staff.
  • Prioritize effective implementation of technology to support teaching and learning practice.
  • Exhibit a broad understanding of and confidence in using the latest communication tools and technologies.
  • Drive and guide staff to adapt their teaching practices.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and ability to connect with students and parents.
