Numeracy Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Numeracy Specialist to join our team at Mother Teresa School. This is a part-time position with a 0.8 FTE appointment.

The Numeracy Specialist will be responsible for leading and supporting the development of numeracy education across the school. This includes planning strategically with the Principal, Deputy Principal, and Wellbeing/Learning Diversity Leader for whole-school improvement in numeracy.

The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of numeracy learning and teaching practices, as well as experience in implementing evidence-based programs and resources. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, staff, and parents.

• Lead and support the development of numeracy education across the school
• Plan strategically with the Principal, Deputy Principal, and Wellbeing/Learning Diversity Leader for whole-school improvement in numeracy
• Implement evidence-based numeracy programs and resources
• Develop and deliver professional learning opportunities for teachers and staff
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement effective numeracy strategies
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement in numeracy
• Provide regular feedback to teachers and staff on student progress and achievement
• Liaise with parents and carers to provide information about student progress and achievement

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• 5+ years of teaching experience, preferably in numeracy education
• Postgraduate qualifications in numeracy education (or willingness to pursue)
• Full Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching
• Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Card

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
