RMIT University is seeking a highly skilled Technical Expertise Lead - Built Environment to support our Trade Innovation Centre on the Bundoora East campus.

This role involves delivering technical expertise and services to staff, students, and partners, contributing to teaching and commercial objectives within the College of Vocational Education (VE).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain technical workshops, sites, or equivalent industry experience, including coordinating maintenance of equipment.
  • Apply HSW and OHS legislation and regulations in technical workshops and building site environments.
  • Develop and maintain technical facilities, ensuring they meet industry and educational standards.
  • Provide innovative solutions to technical problems, preferably within an educational context.
Requirements:
  • Proven technical knowledge and expertise in Building and Construction environment, Trades, and Sustainability.
  • Demonstrated high-level communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Ability to work independently and within a dynamic team environment, handling multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with information and communication technologies, or practical experience using specific types of spaces and resources.
About the Role:

This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including HEW 6 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements. The estimated annual salary for this role is around $120,000 - $150,000 AUD, depending on experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will be based at the RMIT University Bundoora campus but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses. They will join a team committed to empowering learners and industry partners to succeed in the new world of work.
