Job Title: Fitter

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team at Job2Go Pty Ltd. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for fitting, fabricating, and assembling structural components that make up mechanical systems. You will also repair and service machinery as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read, comprehend, and apply technical drawings to construct structural components from raw materials.
  • Carry out a suitable maintenance schedule and perform system maintenance accordingly by finding and fixing faults on allocated services.
  • Conduct diagnostic testing on malfunctioning systems to determine the root cause of the malfunction.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and disassemble damaged or defective parts and tools as and when required.
  • Customize garage doors and other components by cutting, grinding, welding, and assembling.
  • Adhere to all work-site safety rules and regulations.
  • Perform latest welding methods depending on the project.
  • Inspect fabricated components to ensure they are the correct size.
  • Utilize shears, power saws, cutting torches, and chipper knives to cut structural components as needed.
Requirements:
  • Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV in a relevant field or overseas equivalent.
  • At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed.
  • At least five years of relevant prior experience.
  • Previous experience working within the Garage Doors/Gate-Automation industry is preferred.
  • The ability to concentrate for extended periods and respond to emergency calls.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional mechanical skills.
  • The ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of engineering science and technology.
