Job Description:

The Asylum Seeker Resource Centre is seeking a motivated Access and Intake Coordinator to join their team at the Footscray Centre.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and the capacity to work well in a fast-paced environment.

  • Providing initial assessments of client inquiries and evaluating the ASRC's ability to provide assistance
  • Prioritising clients accordingly and overseeing a team of Social Work Student Placements and volunteers
  • Developing and implementing procedures to ensure operational integrity and task completion

About this role:

Main Responsibilities:

Key Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Human Services, or related fields (or equivalent experience)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team and build effective relationships with internal stakeholders

Desirable Qualities:

  • Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia and knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum
