About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a SA Cardiovascular Research Lead and Grants Manager. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on cardiovascular research in South Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational and strategic support to the SA CVRN Executive and Rising Stars Sub-Committees, including secretariat duties such as minute-taking, action items, and reporting.
  • Develop, promote, and administer Heart Foundation SA research grants for CVRN members through transparent processes.
  • Lead the planning and execution of key events like the Annual Cardiovascular Showcase, Emerging Leaders Symposium, and capacity-building workshops for researchers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with CVRN members, research funding bodies, institutions, local health networks, and government agencies.
  • Identify collaboration and funding opportunities across clinical, research, industry, and government sectors, and coordinate activities with other cardiovascular research networks.
  • Coordinate the induction of new members and maintain the integrity of the SA CVRN member database.
  • Support digital and social media efforts to raise the profile of SA CVRN and its members and represent the Network at external meetings and forums.
Requirements
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or relevant work experience in health and medical research or health-related field.
  • Strong understanding of the health and medical research landscape in SA and Australia, including funding schemes and networks.
  • Expertise in grant management and administration.
  • Experience in organizing research, capacity-building, and networking events.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and administrative skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience managing and working with committees.
  • Strong collaboration and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks proactively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for various audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
