Job Opportunity

Molycop is seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team in Newcastle.

This is a critical role that requires the ability to utilise comprehensive mechanical or process knowledge to repair and maintain plant and equipment, ensuring the highest quality and innovative products for customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Equipment diagnosis and fault finding
  • Preventative maintenance activities
  • Safely executing breakdown equipment repairs
  • Simple mechanical planning
  • Data capture in CMMS (asset management software)
  • Working closely with other trade disciplines and operators

Additionally, this role offers opportunities for development on the job through formal training and mentoring, as well as participation in project/shutdown planning and execution.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A formal qualification in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (minimum of Certificate III)
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding
  • Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Ability to work at heights and confined spaces
  • Effective communication skills
  • Experience working in an industrial maintenance environment
  • An understanding of reliability/engineering strategies such as condition monitoring and preventative maintenance
  • A positive can-do attitude
  • Demonstrated commitment to working safely and leading by example

The role offers a 7-day/12-hour rotating 'lifestyle roster' with regular overtime available. The hourly base wage ranges from $39.01-$44.03 depending on experience, plus a 10% shift loading for certain rosters.
