Key Responsibilities- Provide technical advice to industry, the department's executive, public and stakeholders on environmental regulatory matters.
- Set priorities for state significant applications and oversee timely assessments to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Undertake complex assessments and prepare assessment documentation for transparency of environmental approval processes.
- Liaise with companies, industry organisations and other government agencies to coordinate significant assessments and drive regulatory improvements.
- Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders and promote community awareness of relevant environmental policy and guidance.
- Significant knowledge of and experience in environmental regulatory management in the resources sector.
- Significant knowledge of the environmental regulatory frameworks that apply to Western Australia's mining sector.
- Ability to resolve complex environmental regulatory problems and offer appropriate solutions.
