Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our team in the North of Tasmania. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide clinical coordination, assessment, and developmentally appropriate therapeutic interventions to meet the needs of young people and their families/significant others who present with very high and complex care needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist clinical coordination services that support right place, right care principles to facilitate determined need, and undertake high-level assessments and develop individual plans that include bringing together the right mix of services across government and non-government agencies.
  • Promote a positive working culture by developing effective partnerships and exceptional working relationships with all stakeholders, both within the Agency and with external community service providers, and provide services that are person-centred, high quality, sustainable, and responsive to ongoing quality improvement.
  • Work with an amazing and diverse group of clinicians as part of the collaborative multidisciplinary team, including the provision of support and consultation to other team members as required.
About the Role

This newly created role will be supporting an identified cohort of young people and the people/services involved in their care. These children and young people who have complex mental health issues experience and face a difficult future and warrant specialist expertise to intervene as early as possible to change their life trajectory and bring about better quality of life outcomes.

Requirements
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or postgraduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualification; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital-based program that led to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or the United Kingdom.
  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration.
  • Current Driver's Licence.
