Lead Water Management Specialist

This role represents an opportunity for a forward-thinking professional to join likeminded colleagues in creating a new paradigm and future for the management of water in Australia and around the world.

The Opportunity
  • Deliver complex water management projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements.
  • Grow and manage client relationships, with a focus on Sydney Water and other stakeholders across NSW.
  • Oversee project resources, timelines, and quality standards, ensuring efficient delivery.
  • Take the lead in business development activities, preparing proposals and presentations, and identifying new opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the growth and excellence of the Australian water industry through innovation within Arup, our clients, and the broader body of professionals.

Key Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental or Civil Engineering (or related field) with relevant experience in water resources/Integrated Water Management.
  • A strong technical foundation in hydrology/catchment modelling, water-sensitive urban design, and modelling software.
  • Proven project management experience, including planning, execution of water management projects.
  • Knowledge of integrated water management principles, practices, and limitations.
  • Ability to formulate project scope and guide client direction of planning projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
  • A strategic mindset and a strong ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities while delivering quality results.
  • A desire to bring positive change to the Australian water industry.
  • A passion for Australian waterways and their values to communities.
