Youth Family Liaison Specialist

The Adolescent Family Counsellor is a key professional responsible for providing person-centred support and a strengths-based, psychological therapeutic approach to assist young people and families.
The primary goal of this role is to effect reconciliation between young people and their families, ensuring young people stay within the family home, are restored to their family or work towards independent living where acceptable.
Key Responsibilities:- Support Delivery: Provide person-centred support and a strengths-based approach in casework and counselling using appropriate models of intervention and a range of counselling/therapeutic approaches.
- Counselling and Referrals: Deliver information, advice, support, advocacy and counselling alongside medium to long term casework, mediation and referrals to relevant agencies or specialist services.
- Group Facilitation: Develop and facilitate skills-based and therapeutic groups with young people and parents to support personal goals and life/parenting skills.
- Networking: Build and maintain linkages and networks with government, community and corporate stakeholders.
- Client Information: Work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of professionals maintaining comprehensive and professional client information and data.
