Control Systems Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team in Brisbane or Bundaberg. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, programming, commissioning, and maintaining control systems. Your work will encompass projects including receiving station controls, conveyor control, vessel management systems, shiploader control, vision applications, and other related systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement control system solutions using PLCs/HMIs (Schneider M340/580, Uticor HMI, Unity Pro software).
  • Integrate PLCs, SCADA, and HMI platforms (Citect, AVEVA Plant SCADA) to enhance system performance.
  • Provide on-site/remote support for automation system maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
  • Create electrical designs, single line diagrams, schematics, termination diagrams, and layouts.
  • Train clients, liaise with suppliers, and optimize equipment performance to ensure optimal results.
  • Contribute to research and development, data analysis, and new equipment commissioning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide technical support as needed.
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering or an information technology-related field.
  • Valid QLD Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency in programming complete PLC systems using Schneider Unity Pro or Control Expert.
  • Familiarity with the Uticor HMI product range.
  • Strong knowledge of Schneider PLC hardware and software platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with AVEVA Citect SCADA systems.
  • Solid understanding of machine safety standards and practices.
  • Background in industrial automation, particularly within bulk commodities or similar sectors.
  • Expertise in control system design, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, diagnostic skills, and effective communication.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and thrives under pressure.
  • Genuine passion for control systems and a strong desire for continuous learning.
