Mt Isa Health and Safety Advisor

We are seeking a dedicated and safety-focused professional to join our team as a Health and Safety Advisor. This exciting role is based in Mt Isa, QLD and offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the field of health and safety.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical advice and support on health and safety matters across the project. You will work closely with the Project Health, & Safety Manager to ensure that all health and safety issues are identified and addressed in a timely manner.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the coordination of all functional safety issues;
• Playing a pivotal role in the implementation of the injury management process;
• Driving a strong safety culture and liaising with other departments to ensure achievement of the site's safety objectives;
• Championing all applicable Health and Safety Laws, Regulations and statutory obligations at all times;
• Assisting site department owners in the completion and facilitation of Workplace Risk Assessments and Incident Investigations;
• Coordinating and managing incident reporting, inclusive work and non-work-related injury rehabilitation and illness;
• Aligning the health and injury management processes with company policies and procedures, including workplace insurance claims;
• Assisting Supervisors and employees with the Return-to-Work process by developing proactive and timely strategies, including individual health management plans;
• Assisting with the coordination of the hygiene exposure monitoring program with the site service provider;
• Assisting in the development and delivery of health promotion initiatives for the Eva Copper workforce.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

• A genuine passion for health and safety;
• Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety;
• Experience in injury management and return to work coordination;
• The ability to facilitate ICAM Investigations;
• The ability to populate and facilitate risk assessments;
• Ability to build strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
