Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Database Architect to lead the design and implementation of our database infrastructure. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing database architecture, performance tuning, and security compliance.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a unique blend of technical expertise and strategic thinking. They will partner with development teams to improve database design and efficiency, architect modern data solutions, and work with AWS services to deliver scalable solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Tune and optimize queries to improve performance and scalability
  • Manage backups, restores, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Ensure database security, auditing, and compliance with industry regulations
  • Modernize legacy schemas, stored procedures, and ETL scripts
  • Partner with development teams to improve database design and efficiency
  • Architect modern data solutions including Data Lakes, Warehouses, and pipelines
  • Work with AWS services such as RDS, Glue, Athena, S3, and DMS for scalable solutions
  • Leverage automation and monitoring tools to streamline operations and improve reliability
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as a DBA in SQL Server environments
  • Proven ability in performance tuning, query optimization, and schema design
  • Hands-on expertise with AWS RDS, DMS, Glue, Athena, and S3
  • Strong knowledge of HA/DR, backups, encryption, and compliance frameworks
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems and data structures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
  • Background in payments, financial services, or other regulated industries
  • Familiarity with Redshift, Snowflake, or Databricks
  • Experience with Docker or Kubernetes for data workloads
  • AWS or SQL Server certifications
  • Experience working with file transmissions on Linux
