Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of electrical trade tasks including distribution asset construction and maintenance, fault response and rectification works, and customer quality of supply investigations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Distribution Asset Construction and Maintenance: Ensure the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and repair of distribution assets such as cable termination, mini pillar maintenance, and switchgear maintenance.
  • Fault Response and Rectification Works: Identify and rectify faults in the distribution network, ensuring minimal disruption to customers.
  • Installation of Services: Install services from the distribution network to customer premises, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Connection and Disconnection of Supply: Perform connections and disconnections of supply, including non-payment of account disconnections, while ensuring customer safety and minimizing downtime.
  • On-Call and Shift Work Rosters: Participate in on-call and shift-work rosters as necessary, based on policy, to ensure 24/7 service delivery.
  • Customer Quality of Supply Investigations: Conduct investigations into customer quality of supply issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to improve service quality.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Safety Champion: Demonstrates a strong commitment to workplace health and safety, actively promoting a culture of zero harm.
  • Certificate III Systems Electrician: Possesses a minimum Certificate III in Systems Electrics or equivalent qualification.
  • Field Experience: Has previous successful work experience in field on construction and/or maintenance of network infrastructure.
  • High Risk License - EWP: Holds a valid high-risk license for Elevated Work Platforms (EWP).
  • OH&S General Induction Card: Possesses a current OH&S General Induction Card.
  • Asbestos Awareness Training: Has completed asbestos awareness training.
  • Motor Vehicle Licence: Holds a current ACT motor vehicle licence or its acceptable equivalent.
