About the Opportunity

The University of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join our team in the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge project focused on the design and advanced manufacture of carbon composite H2 tanks for heavy mobility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the selection of materials for composites used in a proof-of-concept cryogenic composite tank
  • Develop storage system simulations to guide the design and manufacturing approaches of larger tanks for commercialisation
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to advance the project's objectives
  • Contribute to the supervision of students and participate in conferences and workshops
Requirements
  • PhD (or equivalent) in a related discipline, such as Mechanical/Aerospace/Materials/Manufacturing Engineering
  • Proven commitment to staying up-to-date with industry developments and advancements
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality research and work independently
  • Track record of publications and conference presentations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
