Catering Kitchen Supervisor Job Description

As a Catering Kitchen Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the preparation and production of catering orders meet standards and are completed on time.

This team leading role offers long-term employment, growth within the business, lifestyle, and work-life balance. You'll be responsible for a food preparation and production team of up to 8 staff, reporting directly to a dynamic Catering Kitchen Manager.

You'll be fully trained on their systems and processes, including workflow optimisation, administrative responsibilities, labour cost management, and quality assurance. The role requires strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, advanced time management, and adaptability to change.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the team and understand the business from end to end
  • Prepare for next morning's orders and production, engaging in food preparation and production tasks
  • Ensure a smooth transition for the morning team, completing final production, and thorough close-down at the end of every shift
  • Laboratory Cost & Inventory Ordering Management: Ensure adequate staffing levels while adhering to labor cost targets in addition to stock ordering responsibilities as required.
  • Training and Upskilling: Responsibility for assisting in the training and upskilling of team members
