Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant/Midwifery role is a vital position within the SA Health organization, supporting the delivery of general patient care and undertaking basic nursing duties. This role is ideal for students in nursing or midwifery programs or those with a Certificate III or IV in a health-related discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Enrolled and Registered Nurses/Midwives in the delivery of patient care
  • Undertake basic nursing duties, including patient assessment and care planning
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Develop and maintain effective communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare staff

Requirements

  • Enrolled as a student in an undergraduate program in nursing or midwifery, or
  • Employed on the basis of undertaking a course approved by the Registration Authority for the preparation of Enrolled Nurses, or
  • Hold a Certificate III or IV in a health-related discipline
