Job Description:

As a key member of the team, you will lead day-to-day operations of our bakery cafe. Your primary responsibilities include managing front-of-house, delivering exceptional customer service, overseeing inventory and ordering, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operations Management
    • Ensure smooth service from open to close by overseeing all daily operations.
    • Maintain food quality, presentation, and cleanliness to meet brand standards.
    • Optimise staffing levels based on sales and traffic patterns.
    • Open and/or close the cafe, adhering to established procedures.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, train, and motivate front-of-house staff (baristas, servers).
    • Foster a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork and service excellence.
    • Schedule staff, manage time-off requests, and ensure proper coverage.
  • Customer Experience
    • Deliver friendly, prompt, and attentive service to every guest.
    • Handle customer feedback or complaints professionally and proactively.
    • Support a warm, community-oriented, and inviting cafe environment.
  • Inventory & Ordering
    • Monitor food, beverage, and supply inventory; manage ordering and receiving.
    • Collaborate with bakers and kitchen staff to ensure accurate forecasting and minimal waste.
    • Manage vendor relationships and source ingredients as needed.
  • Financial Responsibilities
    • Track daily sales, labor costs, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Assist in budget planning and cost control efforts.
    • Manage POS systems and reconcile cash and card transactions daily.
  • Health & Safety Compliance
    • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
    • Maintain health inspection readiness at all times.
    • Implement and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules.
