Responsibilities of a Container Gate Clerk include overseeing gate-in and administrative control of container movements, coordinating trucks and containers through the depot, processing arrival details, and enforcing depot procedures for a safe working environment.

About the Role

This is a full-time position where your coordination skills will be utilized to ensure smooth traffic flow at the depot.

  • Process the arrival of containers and trucks, accurately recording details.
  • Liaise with truck drivers and forklift operators to manage traffic flow.
  • Identify and address discrepancies during the gate-in process.
  • Enforce depot procedures and maintain a safe working environment.

Strong stakeholder relationships and excellent customer service are crucial in responding to customer queries efficiently via phone and email.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a container park or transport operations.
  • Familiarity with shipping lines, transport companies, and logistics systems.
  • Strong computer literacy and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication using two-way radios.
  • Understanding of workplace health and safety protocols with a proactive mindset.

You will also be a team player with a positive attitude, flexible, able to work overtime as required, reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering quality service.
