Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Private Business Family Advisory division. The successful candidate will play a key role in attending to compliance services for our clients, including SMSF Financial Statements, Annual Returns, and Member's Statements.

The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years' experience in business services with SMSF clients, strong written and spoken communication skills, and the ability to problem-solve and provide solutions to the leadership team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting and supporting our offshore team with the preparation of SMSF Financial Statements, Annual Returns, and Member's Statements.
  • Reviewing financial reports and assisting with queries on client work.
  • Data entry and processing within BGL360.
  • Preparation and administration of SMSF BAS, IAS, and PAYG Payment Summaries.
  • Liaising with external auditors and other bodies such as the ATO and ASIC.
  • Managing own workflow and prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Providing support to our administration team with SMSF-related documentation, including deeds, pension commencement minutes, SMSF establishments, and ATO-related documents.
  • Escalating any SIS compliance issues to assigned Manager/Client Director/Partner.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The following skills and qualifications are essential:

  • 3-4 years' experience in business services with SMSF clients.
  • High-level written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and provide solutions to the leadership team.
  • Confident manner and ability to interface with clients and earn their respect.
  • Ability to interpret financial data and respond to queries where required.
  • Experience in SMSF software, preferably BGL360 or Class Super.
  • Ability to multitask and respond to internal and external queries in a timely manner.
