Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist
DescriptionWe are seeking a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist to join our team at the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network. The successful candidate will provide specialist services across SCHN with primary locations at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
Main Responsibilities- Delivering excellent clinical care to children and their families
- Undertaking research in the area of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
The ideal candidate will be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist, have recent clinical experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and demonstrate effective communication and leadership skills.
In this role, you will work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, provide leadership, and participate in an on-call roster and respond on site as required.
You will also be committed to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement.
Requirements- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster and to respond on site as required within a reasonable time
- Experience with a wide range of treatment methods including psychotherapeutic approaches and the use of psychotropic medications
