Job Overview

This is a challenging role for a WHS expert to lead and manage the health, safety, and environmental functions of a national defence company in Perth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective WHS strategies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. They will also coordinate training programs, conduct site inspections, and represent the business at meetings as required.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Report and investigate incidents and hazards, and coordinate corrective actions
  • Coordinate all WHSE inductions and Right-To-Work requirements
  • Represent the business at interested party consultative meetings
  • Coordinate and conduct site WHSE inspections
  • Assist in maintaining WHSE management and reporting systems
  • Act as Project Safety Officer
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Cert IV in Work Health & Safety with extensive experience (Diploma or higher desirable)
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Demonstrated knowledge of WHSE compliance
  • Return-to-work Coordinator qualification
  • Lead Auditor - WHS qualification
  • Ability to work independently and communicate with stakeholders
  • Ability to lead people to promote a positive culture that promotes high performance
  • Ability to obtain an NV1 Security Clearance
