About the Role

This is a permanent position as a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead a team of discipline Engineers, engaging with ESPs to deliver on-site solutions for mobile equipment fleet. With a focus on maintenance & reliability (mobile equipment), you will lead your team to ensure critical safety is met, maintenance strategies are adequate and meet requirements, and to promote/enhance the technical knowledge of others on site in regards to Mechanical Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement equipment maintenance strategies for all equipment within the operational area of responsibility, ensuring adequate information is captured in the task list and associated work instructions to perform the intended tasks to the required standard safely.
  2. Lead a team of experienced mechanical engineers, promoting discipline in engineering work, verifying quality of completed tasks, and enhancing technical knowledge of team members and other Engineering employees in regard to the mechanical discipline.
  3. Identify all equipment requiring inspections and repairs based on legislative and statutory requirements, create Safety Critical Equipment master data in SAP, and develop and deploy maintenance strategies to meet the requirements of Safety Critical Equipment.
  4. Ensure adherence to statutory plans in SAP, and lead the development and implementation of Management of Engineering Change.

Requirements

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
  2. Knowledge of Mobile Equipment Maintenance & Reliability in the Mining context.
  3. Knowledge of mechanical engineering methodologies, tools, and software.
  4. Knowledge and experience implementing Management of Engineering Change.
  5. Significant experience in delivering complete life cycle of design works within a brownfield environment within the resources or other heavy industry.
  6. Sound understanding and proven experience in developing and managing engineering budgets and schedules.
