Pharmacy Technician Role

We have 2 part-time opportunities for a Pharmacy Technician or a Pharmacy Student to join our supportive and collaborative team.

As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be working closely with a multidisciplinary team of experienced pharmacists who are excited to share their knowledge and support through hands-on training in hospital pharmacy services.

This is a permanent part-time position, working each Saturday. Your duties will include:

  • Receiving, dispensing, and supplying medications for hospital inpatients and outpatients
  • Assisting in processing and maintaining imprest levels and managing hospital ward stock
  • Reconciling and managing prescriptions and patient medication discharge profiles
  • Providing customer service to patients, carers, and hospital staff
  • Supporting the pharmacist and providing assistance with S2/S3 sales
  • Processing PBS claims and assisting in producing medication profiles for hospital patients on discharge

Key responsibilities include receiving, dispensing, and supplying medications; managing imprest levels and hospital ward stock; reconciling and managing prescriptions and patient medication discharge profiles; and providing customer service to patients, carers, and hospital staff.

Requirements include previous experience dispensing medication in an Australian or New Zealand pharmacy, experience and knowledge of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS), and knowledge of S2/S3 medications.
