Job Description

Develop and implement engaging learn to swim and water safety lessons for diverse Aquatics Programs, catering to varying participant needs and abilities. Collaborate with the Aquatic Programs team to advise on swimming instruction, coaching, and safety matters.

Implement lesson plans according to student needs, ensuring adequate planning and resource availability. Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies, adhering to Council's emergency action plans.

Maintain equipment and cleanliness of storage areas, setting up and putting away equipment as required. Prepare regular reports and updates on participants for the Aquatic Programs Supervisor.

Identify, report, and respond to potential safety or hazard issues that may cause injury or illness to staff or patrons. Contribute to policy reviews and maintain regulatory compliance.

Build professional relationships with participants and parents/guardians to deliver excellent customer service and effective program delivery. Implement Child Safe Practices and procedures to mitigate risks.

Promote a positive and collaborative organizational culture through ethical behavior and open decision-making.

Work collaboratively with the team, Manager, and stakeholders to achieve business unit goals, work requests, demands, and Council priorities.
