Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Functions and Events Manager.

This management role involves supervising, supporting and assisting the duty managers on the day-to-day operation of various functions and events throughout the venue.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and participating in function operations;
  • Promoting the functions facilities where necessary;
  • Marketing, social media & website management;

The ideal candidate will be energetic, enthusiastic and able to adapt their behaviours and personality to a variety of situations. They should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to liaise confidently with a wide range of personalities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:

  • At least 2 years of experience in events and marketing;
  • Ability to work independently and make appropriate business decisions;
  • End-to-end client management during the execution of functions;
  • Punctuality and personal presentation is crucial;
  • Able to work flexible hours depending on event or function bookings;
  • Delegation of duties to staff and supervision of their execution;
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service relations;
  • Ability to think and act quickly and make swift decisions as required;
  • Current RSA abiding laws to ensure strict compliance with Liquor Licensing Awards and Government Regulations;
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills;
