Substance Abuse Specialist

The Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Team is a multidisciplinary unit that supports individuals in need of treatment, support, and education regarding their use of alcohol and other drugs.
The team provides seamless treatment pathways, coordinated services, and harm reduction interventions to consumers across the continuum of AOD use.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct AOD-specific screenings and assessments for clients accessing both internal and external AOD services.
- Develop and implement initial treatment plans tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate with consumers, carers, and professionals to deliver person-centred care.

The successful applicant will have a strong commitment to partnership working, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Requirements- Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Community Services, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in the AOD sector or completion of the AOD skillset within the first 12 months of employment.
- Understanding of the social model of health and its integration into practice.
- Excellent report writing, case noting, and program data reporting skills.
