Job Title: Senior Prosecutor

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Prosecutor to join our team at the Queensland Police Service. As a Senior Prosecutor, you will play a critical role in providing professional prosecution services, including the provision of legal advice to members of the Service on matters before the Magistrates, Childrens and Coroners Courts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a prosecution service for the area of responsibility, ensuring the highest quality of briefs is maintained.
• Liaise, consult and negotiate with members of the Queensland Police Service, the legal profession, government agencies and the community to establish effective working relationships and achieve desired policing outcomes.
• Take a lead role in the development and provision of quality legal research, argument, submissions, opinion and advice.
• Manage resources in accordance with Service policy to achieve efficient operations for the area of responsibility.
• Establish and model maintain high standards of performance and conduct in daily work activities.
• May include coordination activities for Specialist Courts and diversionary initiatives as directed by the Superintendent.

Requirements:

• Admission as, eligibility for immediate admission as, or entitlement to practise as, a legal practitioner in the State of Queensland.
