Mathematics Department Lead

Camberwell Girls Grammar School seeks a highly experienced and passionate educator to lead the Mathematics Department.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in teaching VCE Mathematics and will possess excellent leadership skills to drive excellence and innovation in the department.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for creative contemporary Mathematics education that prepares students for their futures and aligns with the school's strategic plan.
  • Lead the development of innovative curriculum within the department, emphasizing design thinking and evidence-based approaches.
  • Collaborate with and coordinate the Department's teaching staff, providing orientation, support, and review.
  • Contribute to whole-school curriculum development discussions and ensure compliance with the Australian Curriculum and VCE.
  • Develop and implement programs that improve student learning and teaching, modeling and encouraging staff to use contemporary teaching methodologies.

Requirements:

  • A passion for teaching and education.
  • Experience and proven results teaching VCE Mathematics.
  • A strong interest in working with secondary school-aged children.
  • High-level interpersonal skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Positive and flexible attitude, enthusiasm, energy, and commitment to achieving best practice.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and well-developed time management and organizational skills.
