Bakery Assistant

About the Role
Mater Misericordiae Ltd is seeking a Bakery Assistant to join our team in a permanent, part-time capacity. The successful candidate will work weekdays during standard business hours, with no weekend or night shifts required.
This is a fast-paced, diverse role that requires strong teamwork skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general cleaning duties, including washing baking trays, utensils, and equipment
- Ensure baked goods are prepared and packaged according to recipe specifications
- Manage inventory to ensure all bakery products are within their use-by dates
- Correctly label and vacuum-seal packaged products
- Maintain retention samples of baked goods for quality assurance
- Ensure dispatch trolleys are correctly labelled, filled, and not overloaded
- Assist with product placement and organization on food storage shelves
- Support the Head Baker with the coordination of production schedules
- Ensure all bakery equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized after each use
About You
- Understanding of food safety principles and basic hygiene
- Ability to achieve goals and objectives with minimal supervision
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
- Certificate in Occupational Hygiene is desirable
- Previous experience in a comparable position highly desirable
