About the Role

Baker Tilly US, LLP is seeking a highly skilled Forensic Accountant Manager to join our growing Sydney Forensics, Litigation & Valuation Services (FLVS) team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex forensic financial analyses, building models, and maintaining documents with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborate with Senior Managers, Directors, or Partners to discuss and outline problems/issues and act on preferred advice.
  • Determine engagement timelines and instruct assistants in time management methods to efficiently accomplish the Firm's objectives.
  • Assume responsibility for all project phases related to the investigation of fraud, forensic accounting, or malfeasance.
  • Manage day-to-day project activities, establish leverage on project teams, and assign/manage project responsibilities to team members.
  • Carry out the quantification of claims on behalf of Insurers, Loss Adjusters, Lawyers, and others.
  • Analyze data and financial/non-financial information and apply a forensic approach to the work.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports that can be understood by non-accountants.
  • Be flexible and responsive to client needs, being available for meetings at times and places stipulated by the client.
  • Develop and maintain excellent client relationships.
  • Participate in Firm business development efforts, including the development of presentations and proposals.
  • Represent the Firm at business and community functions to maintain existing client relationships.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of public accounting or related experience.
  • A record of progressively increasing knowledge, skill, responsibility, and independence.
  • Experience in forensic accounting and litigation support is strongly preferred.
  • Intellectual curiosity, ability to spot the unusual, and tenacity to discover the cause.
  • Willingness to look at detail, without missing or losing the 'big picture.'
  • Readiness to accept that everything one does will be challenged.
  • Confidence to handle confrontation, pressure, and deadlines.
  • Skilled at building relationships with others.
  • Candidates should be exam qualified with post-qualification experience, as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Previous experience in forensic accounting or insurance claim evaluation is essential.
  • Additional language skills are a plus.
