Job Overview

Serving as a senior accountant in a private equity-backed organization. This newly created role reports directly to the chief financial officer and supports the timely completion of month-end close processes, annual audits, and quarterly reporting.

After an initial period of 6-12 months, the focus will shift towards a more strategic financial planning and analysis role.

Remuneration

A competitive salary package with a minimum of A$120,000 per annum and a maximum of A$140,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the fixed asset register, capital projects, and related reporting.
  • Develop and implement efficient cash forecasting processes.
  • Prepare and submit BAS, tax returns, and FBT returns on a timely basis.
  • Reconcile account balances promptly and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support the preparation of annual audit and financial statement documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as requested by the CFO, such as budgeting and forecasting.
Requirements
  • Hold a CA/CPA qualification, preferably with experience in professional services.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a relevant finance role.
  • Familiarity with tax laws and regulations will be viewed favorably.
  • Experience working within a private equity-owned portfolio company is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrate high achievement drive, ability to work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Possess a continuous improvement mindset, willingness to question established procedures, and implement new processes.
