Leader of a Cafe Team

The role of Leader of a Cafe Team involves overseeing the daily operations of a cafe in a high-profile environment. This includes managing staff, maintaining exceptional service standards and conditions, and continually looking to improve profitability and minimize costs without compromising standards and customer experience.

This leader will be responsible for delivering consistently excellent results, fostering a positive work environment that promotes consistent, efficient, and friendly service for customers, exceeding their expectations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering and maintaining exceptional service standards and conditions.
  • Continuously improving profitability and minimizing costs without compromising standards and customer experience.
  • Fostering a positive environment that provides consistent, efficient, and friendly service for customers, exceeding their expectations.
  • Creating the tone and personality of the cafe by promoting training, customer service, product knowledge, and education, encouraging safe work practices, and demonstrating commitment to our requirements.
  • Ensuring proper team member coverage, scheduling according to business needs while maintaining costs.
  • Able to perform all POS duties, front and back of house, including opening and closing procedures, coordinating with the Site Manager as necessary.
  • Maintaining awareness of menu changes, special requirements, outstanding orders, or work tasks required prior to service commencement.
  • Providing constant supervision and motivation to staff on all aspects of their work.
  • Serving food and/or beverages to customers, preparing specialty dishes at tables.
  • Resolving customer complaints regarding food and beverage service.
  • Supporting the Site Manager and Head Chef in kitchen management and achievement of departmental KPIs.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Extensive Barista Experience.

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid Work With Children Check (WWCC).

Responsibilities are shared between the candidate and other team members. It is a collaborative position requiring strong interpersonal skills.
