This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing health outcomes for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, particularly focusing on women and children aged 0-5 years.

The ideal candidate will work in partnership with the Midwife to ensure seamless progression of children into the child development program.

About the Role

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to address community priorities in children's health and development.

  • Promote education and support services for children and their families, emphasizing the importance of early childhood development.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-level clinical monitoring, identify developmental delays, and refer to appropriate services.

  • Administer childhood immunizations and integrate maternal and child health services to ensure holistic care.

  • Ensure accurate clinical documentation and data management, contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and mentorship within the team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

  • Work closely with the Midwife and Paediatric Nurse to deliver exceptional patient care and achieve desired health outcomes.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and evidence-based practices in child health, ensuring the delivery of best-in-class care.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with local communities, healthcare providers, and stakeholders to promote partnerships and advance the organization's mission.

Requirements

  • Degree in Nursing (Paediatrics or Child Health) or equivalent qualifications.

  • A minimum of 3 years postgraduate experience in a relevant field, preferably in child health.

  • Current AHPRA registration and nationally recognized immunization certification.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
