Cyber Threat Hunter Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Cyber Threat Hunter to lead the development of our Detection and Response capability. This role involves shaping and driving the evolution of our detection capabilities, including threat hunting, purple teaming, detection engineering, cyber incident management, threat intelligence, and ongoing people, process, and technology development.

About the Role

This position is responsible for leading the evolution of our detection capability to address the ever-changing threat landscape. The successful candidate will shape the Optus Cyber Threat detection capability and integrate it with broader Cyber Defence functions. Additionally, they will drive the continued development of the Defensive Cyber Security capability, supporting business cases for further investment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Cyber Security incident response activities, including developing strategies for containment and rapid resolution.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and professionalism, ensuring we maintain the highest standards in cyber security.
  • Develop and implement effective threat hunting strategies to stay ahead of emerging threats.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Cyber Security, or related fields, with a focus on threat hunting, incident management, detection engineering, and CI/CD. They will possess expert knowledge of the cyber threat landscape, including malware families, indicators, TTPs (tools, tactics, techniques, procedures), and applying them to threat assessments.
