Job Opportunity: Behaviour Support Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team in south west Sydney.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support NDIS participants and their families/carers to identify needs through assessment and person-centred planning.
  2. Evaluate, develop, and deliver evidence-based support plans within complex environments.
  3. Develop meaningful goals and strategies using the positive behaviour support framework, focusing on eliminating restrictive practices.
  4. Ensure individual plans reflect participants' goals, passions, and strengths.
  5. Build knowledge, capacity, and strengths of those supporting participants, including family, carers, friends, etc.
  6. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including mentoring less experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners.

About You:
  1. Considerable experience working as a Behaviour Support Practitioner or obtained Proficient/Advanced level suitability via self-assessment application pathway.
  2. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
  3. Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  4. Genuine passion for working in the disability sector and mentoring others.
  5. Solution-focused attitude motivated by improvement and testing new ideas.
  6. Looking for a fun, collaborative, and supportive work environment.
  7. Current suitability at Proficient or Advanced level as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
  8. Completion of degree-level qualification in an allied health discipline is an advantage but not essential.
