We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced laboratory scientist to join our team at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research on Influenza (WHOCCRRI), VIDRL. As a Full-Time Research Scientist, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of respiratory viruses, including influenza, and contribute to the development of new methods and techniques.
Key Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A minimum of a University BSc or Hons degree in Microbiology/Virology/Pharmaceutical Science (or similar discipline).
- At least 2 years of laboratory experience.
- Experience in cell culture, virus isolation, and molecular techniques such as real-time PCR, Sanger sequencing, pyrosequencing, and NGS.
- Strong molecular biology skills, including PCR, cloning, transformations/transfections, and recombinant protein expression.
