Ecological Consultant

Stantec is seeking a highly skilled Ecological Consultant to join our Terrestrial Fauna Team in Perth, Australia.
As an Ecological Consultant, you will be responsible for leading and participating in terrestrial fauna field surveys, analyzing ecological data, and preparing technical reports.
- Key Responsibilities:
Lead and/or participate in terrestrial fauna field surveys in remote and diverse environments across Western Australia and potentially interstate.
Analyze ecological data and prepare clear, concise technical reports.
Liaise with technical and subject matter specialists.
Prepare proposals, budgets, and tender documents.
Provide technical support and advice to the broader environment team or receive appropriate mentoring to develop your technical skills.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Qualifications:
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Experience:
Two to five years of professional experience in terrestrial fauna, ideally with an environmental consultancy or a passion to develop in this discipline.
Terrestrial fauna survey experience and demonstrated enthusiasm for zoology.
Ability to undertake extended surveys, generally up to two weeks at a time in remote locations across WA.
A solid level of physical fitness and ability to pass a fitness assessment for field surveys.
Be eligible to work in Australia with a current C class unrestricted (manual) drivers' licence.
Keen birding experience would be of interest but not essential.
Keen terrestrial invertebrate experience would be of interest but not essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
GIS and spatial ecology experience will be seen as beneficial, but not essential.
Ability to work well in a team environment and willingness to work across teams.
An interest in embracing innovation to continually improve the work we do.
