The Chief Data Analytics Office (CDAO) team plays a critical role in this effort, transforming how our crew uses data to inform every decision and drive outcomes.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineering Tech Lead to join our CDAO team. This role will lead the design, build, and deployment of a metadata-driven, incrementally loading data lakehouse solution on AWS for international teams across Vanguard. You will work closely with our Engineers and Tech Leads to develop and maintain a robust and scalable data infrastructure that meets the evolving needs of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a metadata-driven data lakehouse solution on AWS, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
  • Leverage your expertise in cloud-based engineering to optimize data quality, governance, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and prioritize project deliverables.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to develop their skills and contribute to the growth of our team.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends, applying innovative solutions to drive business impact.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong experience working in cloud-based engineering teams, preferably using AWS.
  • Experience leading teams, prioritizing effort, and focusing strategically and tactically.
  • Solid understanding of dimensional modeling, with Data Vault experience a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of Python and SQL for data exploration and transformation, ideally within Spark environments.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
