Our team comprises the Fire and Rescue Service, the Rural Fire Service, and the State Emergency Service, supporting other volunteer groups in delivering emergency response services to Queenslanders.

Job Summary

The Auxiliary Firefighter role plays a vital part in our emergency response efforts. As an Auxiliary Firefighter, you will be part of a team responding to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness through education and outreach activities.

Main Responsibilities

As an Auxiliary Firefighter, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to emergency incidents, including fires and other emergencies
  • Promoting community safety and emergency preparedness through education and outreach activities
  • Developing and maintaining competencies through regular drills and training courses
  • Maintaining required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training
  • Operating specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Australian Permanent Resident Status
  • Manual C Class driver's licence
  • Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station
