About The Role: Casual

The Support Worker will use their experience to offer support and monitor behaviors during extreme weather responses. Key responsibilities include:

  • Building rapport with clients to understand and address their needs effectively.
  • Completing administrative tasks, including maintaining accurate records.
  • Utilizing correct crisis intervention strategies to minimize client escalations.
  • Understanding referrals for physical and mental illness crises efficiently.
  • Participating in code blue/red overnight extreme weather responses.

About You

You will be an experienced support worker familiar with working with people experiencing homelessness and marginalization. Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse groups are essential. A passion for building relationships and understanding referral services within the homelessness sector is required.

Key Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Community Services or related field.
  • Full unrestricted South Australia Driver's Licence.
  • Safe Environments for Children and Young People training.
  • Working With Children Check.
  • National Police Check.
  • Valid First Aid / CPR training.
  • Ability to work outside normal office hours may be required.
  • Use of own vehicle.
